Grilling for Memorial Day? Don’t Forget the Fruit!


¼ lb Ripe Red (Mehley) Plums

¼ lb Ripe Apricots

½ lb Ripe White Nectarines

½ lb Ripe Yellow Peaches


1 tbsp organic clover honey

1 tbsp finely chopped mint

4 ripe limes – juiced

Pinch of kosher salt

Grilled stone fruit is the way to go this memorial day! An unexpected twist on the traditional fruit salad with a kick of lime, honey and mint. This salad is not only beautiful, it is also full of diverse flavors. The tart plums, velvety apricots and sweet crisp nectarines are beautifully off set by the savory smokiness of tender charbroiled peaches. Lightly tossed in our sweet & tangy  honey, lime, mint dressing for a balance of flavors you will crave from Memorial Day on.

Mix honey, mint, lime & pinch of kosher salt. Set aside.

Slice all fruit down the center from front to back. Holding in both hands twist to loosen pit from one side of the fruit. Remove pit.

Slice apricots and peaches in half.

Slice plumbs into quarters.

Slice nectarines into 8th’s

Lightly brush or spray peaches with extra virgin olive oil and place on hot grill. Let stand for 1 – 2 minutes until grill marks appear. Remove from heat and slice or keep whole.

Place all fruit into a large bowl. Stir in honey, lime, mint dressing to coat.

Serve on your favorite platter with sprigs of mint & enjoy!
